Tom Childs started to learn the bagpipes when he was a young boy. He has since studied piping under several reputable teachers including Archie MacLeod, the late Giovanno Ferro, The late Hamilton Workman, John Sullivan, Leslie Webster and Iain Massie.

Tom has played in several area Pipe bands including the Colonial Pipers, Stuart highlanders, The Castle Island Pipe Band, The Scottish Arts School Pipe Band, The Rhode Island Highlanders, The Worcester Kiltie Pipe Band and the Boston Pipers Society.

Tom has played many high profile and prestigious events for clients such as the Country Club in Brookline, MA. The New York Yacht Club in Newport RI, Ballantine’s Scotch Whiskey tour and many weddings and funerals as well as parties and special events.

As a member of the Boston Pipers Society, Tom has played several live performances with the Boston Pops Orchestra, at such venues as the Tweeter Center and Symphony Hall.

As a solo piper, Tom has successfully competed up the amateur ranks to a solo grade 1 player.
